The latest book that I read “Think Like a Horse” by Grant Golliher is about one of my favorite creatures, horses. I have always loved horses. When I was a little girl we lived on a horse ranch in Eastern Washington for a bit. I would see the wild horses and the trained horses and I fell in love with them. Horses are a big deal in my family, in fact, a few of my cousins work in the race horse industry and are trainers. Grant Golliher is the horse whisperer, just like Caesar Milan ins the dog whisperer. The most amazing thing happened, while watching old episodes of The Dog Whisperer on Disney Plus, one of the episodes had a horse and they got Grant Golliher to help. Then I was given an opportunity to read his new book. The chapter that hit me the hardest was the chapter on trust. How he teaches a traumatized horse to trust him and how he slowly builds it up. One day I hope to touch and ride a horse again. And this book is also teaching me how to be mindful and build up trust in myself and in others in my life and how to move slowly and not be in such a big hurry. Another big thing is not being so quick to criticize, but to praise people even in the smallest things. That is how you build trust up. I agree. This is an excellent book, well written, insightful, and full of great wisdom. You do not have to be a horse owner or lover to appreciate the value of this book. There are some great jewels to help all kinds of people.
