Can you believe April is over? I cannot fathom how fast it went. I cannot fathom all that has happened this month. I had my lung bronchoscopy surgery on April 6th and discovered that my GPA is attacking my lungs now and is full blown attack mode. I have been on 60 MGs of Prednisone and will be starting Rituximab treatments again. 1 a week for 4 weeks. This is on top of my Hirentza infusions that are 1 a week. May is going to be a busy month, but this post is about April’s goals and whether I am conquering them or not. My goals changed a bit because I had to have emergency lung surgery. It was unexpected and added a lot to my new life. A lot has happened this month. I am struggling with the side effects of Prednisone and I am taking things easy as I navigate this new set of things in my life. Here are the goals I had for April and how I did on them:

  • Start writing: the Practice of Suffering with a 50,000-word challenge on Nanno with my sister: I am almost done with this challenge. I have done it. I am so proud of myself, and I am proud of my sister too. We both rocked it.
  • Research and come up for articles for my blog: I did not do this. It was too much with everything. I may put this on the back burner until June, or I might try in May and June. We shall see how I feel.
  • Go to bed by Midnight and get up at 5 AM to write: Well, no, I started Prednisone and things went wonky after. However, I did get up at 5 AM so that I can write and take my Prednisone early. So I did part of it.
  • Read and write 3 book Reviews: I nailed this.
  • Physical therapy: Well, I cancelled it. It was too much with my lung issues and discovering how much of a mess my body is in right now. This is on the back burner until I get back into remission enough to start doing more things.
  • Write a few people on my list: I did this.
  • Look at recipes and create my own salads: I have done this. I made a delicious broccoli salad. Yum! I roasted some sweet potatoes and broccoli and Brussel sprouts. I am working on what I am eating especially now that I am taking harsher medications now.

I am proud of myself. I started my book and I made it to 50,000 words. That is a big thing for me. I had a lot of life events that were devastating happening and I at least conquered one thing. My lung dilation surgery is scheduled for May 12th and I will be writing more about this in my May goals post.

Remember to keep breathing!
