I enjoy reading memoirs by people. Doesn’t matter if they are famous or not, I like hearing peoples stories on their life. In “Who Do You Think I Am?” by Anjelah Johnson-Reyes we learn about her and the Mexican American culture she grew up in. She makes you laugh with her comedic style and clutch the pearl moments. I appreciate her dream big attitude or go home style. It takes a lot of guts to share your stories with the world and your funny side. The section that spoke to me the most about how her friend shared with the guy she was talking was not the one for her. Turns out, the friend was correct. I love how she explained what Christianese is and how manipulative and abusive it is in relationships of all kinds. I was shouting AMEN sister as I read this part of her story. I felt validated by it.
If you enjoy memoirs and reading about other people experiences in their lives then this is a good one to pick up and add to your book pile. I’m glad that I got to read it.
