Warning: This book deals with sexual assault and molestation. These might be a trigger subject for a few readers.

When I saw the title of this book I was intrigued and wanted to read. I bet you can see why I wanted to. This book is about a writer, who writes a famous book and her two friends and the sexual assault she suffered when she was younger. There is a lot of drama and dynamics. I appreciate this story. It shows a strong woman who decides to investigate after receiving a letter saying she got it wrong. Then she receives a phone call from her friend’s mother stating that the friend is missing. They can’t find her, so the heroine decides to go the cabin that belonged to her grandfather and confront the horrible memories of the summers she spent there and was sexually assaulted by her friend’s older brother. I am not going to tell you what happened or how healing happened. Let’s just say you will be surprised. I love how the author approached this subject and how she had her character not play the victim and how she healed from her experiences.

This is a good book despite the touchy subject. I am glad that I got a chance to read it.
