I enjoy reading serious novels when I choose to read one. In my latest, Once Upon a Book Club box I received a rom com novel that is written by Julie Murphy called If the Shoe Fits. She rewrites the Cinderella story. She has big curvy women as the romantic lead in her stories. I was not sure how I would like this book when I first received this book. I put it on my shelf and read a couple of other novels I had to read first. I finally got around to reading it. I am glad that I did. This is a fast read for me. Full of cheeky, fun, and thoughtful moments packed throughout the book. I am not going to ruin the story. Let’s just say that her main character Cindy is a shoe lover, and she is learning to be herself in a world that does not value women who are curvy. I can empathize with that. She finds love through a reality TV show she becomes a part of. That is all I will say. I was not sure I would like this book as I written before, because those reality dating shows turn my stomach. However, in this book, I learned to enjoy the concept and the characters are so well written that I fell in love with Henry and with Cindy. This is a great novel to get lost in when you are having a pain day. This is a quick read for me, and I was sad to see it end.
