Since You’ve Been Gone is a coming-of-age story of a woman discovering herself and a man who finally gets to let the girl he has been crushing on forever that he loves her. This was a fast read for me. I love simple stories that have a happy ending. Tari Farris’ book delivers that in this story.
I read stories like this when I am having a bad pain day. It keeps me focused on happy thoughts instead of the excruciating pain that I am in from my RA. I learned about distraction from my pain management class that I took. What I liked about this story is the way Farris developed her character Leah and her grieving her pass failings and makes the decision to move forward. I also love that Jon is supportive of Leah’s choices and even in the end when Leah fails him, he forgives her. This is about forgiveness.
