I love reading historical fiction. Sisters in Arms is about Black Women who were recruited to join the military during World War II. It is a powerful story of friendship, over coming racial abuse by many including inside of the military and overcoming parental expectations that do not fit your own journey. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Love that this book shows the many different tides that happen in women friendships over time. Assuming things can kill relationships that is evident in this book too.
This book was easy to read, and I got lost in the story quickly. I love that.
