Grief is an old friend that I have known since I was 13 years old when my birth mother passed away. When 2009 came around and my chronic illness journey began, I knew grief was going to be part of it. I still grieve from time to time. In my Faith box in August, I received a book about grief called Sacred Tears by Lindsey Wheeler and Mary Carver. The author has Lyme disease and a child with special needs, so she is familiar with grief herself. The photography in this book is gorgeous. There are scriptures and quotes throughout this book that comfort your soul. At least it did for me. This book makes a great devotional for those who have a chronic illness or a special needs child. It also makes a great thinking of you gift too.
