This weekend I got lost in a novel. The novel I chose for this weekend’s reading experience is Facing the Dawn by Cynthia Ruchti.
Be prepared to have Kleenix nearby because this novel is full of sadness of Mara a woman who lost her husband to an accident in Uganda and a son to suicide. Although, the ending had a happy ending the process was full of grief, pain, and forgiveness. I enjoyed this story a lot. I felt a kinship to Mara and her friend Ashley.
Ruchti’s writing style is simple but elegant. I got lost in the storyline and I had a hard time putting this novel done. I loved that Mara forage through her mourning with grace and dignity and that she traveled outside of her comfort zone to heal.
I recommend this book. If you would like to purchase your own copy:
I was given this book by Revell. The opinions I express are my own and I was not influenced.
