I have always thought music connects us. It is a way for us to express our emotions. Those emotions that overwhelm and consume us. Music has helped me grieve. In the book by Minnie Drake “The Lost Love Song” this novel explores this idea by taking us on a journey of a piano player who sadly dies in a freak plane crash that leaves her fiancé and family reeling with pain. But her song, that she left behind and was found by someone else somehow reaches them and starts all sorts of people. This book is sad, but it is also healing at the same time.
When I read the first chapter about the death of Diana the song writer and piano player I was not sure I would be able to continue. I needed to because I purchases Once Upon a Book Club box and I needed to read it and experience the book club gifts that come along with the book. The gifts were awesome. I love the map and the ring in the piano box did not fit me I was able to gift it to a young lady who is a piano player herself. I ended up loving Drake’s book and I enjoyed her writing style. I did like the experience of Once Upon a Book Club too. It is worth the money and it makes reading more enjoyable. I think this would be an excellent gift for a young person (they have a Young Adult one) or a anyone who is an avid book reader.
I purchased this book from Once Upon a Book Club. The opinions I express are my own and I was not influenced.
