I had three books to read before the end of 2020, after reading The Return from Nicholas Sparks, I now have two books left for the year. I was not disappointed in this newest novel by Sparks. His books are full of love, pain, emotions, conflict, mystery, and challenging situations that could break a person. The Return has mystery and challenging situations that could break a person, but in the end it does not. I cried. Because I have been in the same situation as the three main characters in this novel, I felt connected to them in a new way.
Sparks writing is simple, clear, and not full of words that leave the reader feeling like they must run to the dictionary. I love how he describes the places and the people in the story line. I felt like I could picture the character standing before me as the story unfolded. This is a great novel to get lost in when having a pain day to use as a distraction.
