Hard to believe the end of 2020 is upon us. What a crazy year it has been. Every year I choose a focus word that centers around the goals I want to accomplish that year. It took me a long time to find a focus word for 2021. I knew what I wanted to accomplish but there was no word that seemed right in my mind. I decided to talk to my counselor about it and he helped me to decide that my focus word will be intentional. I aim to be intentional in all my goals for 2021. I am craving balance. I am craving organization. I am craving quiet. I am craving peace. After the obnoxious communication that has been opening around the elections and about Covid-19 I need peace and calmness. That is why intentional is my word for 2021.
Here are some of the things I will be intentional about:
- As I do every year I will read through the Bible. Last year I did it by myself. This year I invited several individuals to do this with me on You Versions Bible app and a couple of people who do not have You Version we will do it through email
- Meditation, I need calm and relaxation. I found a great app for my Kindle that has some great meditations for sleep, relaxation, for weight loss, ETC. I used the sleep one and I like it. The lady is British who is talking but her voice is calm and soothing.
- To divert from the angry, bitter, and negative communication on my Facebook and Twitter and other social media. I will be asking questions to get to know my tribe of different people. There will be no religious questions or political questions.
- I will be writing monthly to my mom a letter or a card because I do not get to see her that often.
- I am craving organization. For Christmas I got some organizational tools to help me with organizing my apartment. I am excited about these tools and I will be getting more. I have a lot of medical supplies that I must use every month and with me being in a one-bedroom apartment it gets cluttery. I cannot function in clutter. During the organization process I will be purging things I am not using or want.
- I have this on my list every year and that is to try out new recipes.
- Lose another 60 pounds
- Be mindful of the food I eat and the things I choose to drink.
- Drink tea more often. The couple of weeks I have been getting up and putting my kettle on and enjoying a hot cup of tea before my caregiver comes. This gives me a moment to prepare for my day and have calmness before activity starts.
- Now that I have a balance ball again use it for strength training and use my muscles. I will also be using my medicine ball and my leg weights.
- For my work, Promote Wellness Works NW more often through my social media and blog posts. Continue to write my articles and product reviews.
- Write more product reviews for Jamie Chases Butterflies and person posts.
- Practice with my photography skills and acquire better lighting to make taking pictures better. Get out of the house and take more shots outside.
- Learn about alternative healing to aid in my healing.
- Create more balms with essential oils. And learn about their healing qualities.
- Color more. I have a ton of coloring books and color pencils, but I do not use them. I love doing it. I just do not use them.
- Listen to music and explore new artists.
- Have a sleep time routine that fits my schedule.
- Finally, journal in my new planner and my journal.
This is what I am aiming for. I feel confident I will follow through. Remember to keep breathing!
