Diving into the word of God and spending time with Him helps me deal with the frustrations of living with a chronic condition. I do this in many forms, from reading devotional books, listening to Podcasts, and the Bible app on my Kindle. There is so much angst in the world and if we don’t take the time daily to sit still, listen, breathe, and connect with God I know I become anxious and angry.
I was excited when I received Joyce Meyer’s newest devotional Quiet Times with God. I started in October. I do this in the evening before I go to bed and it feels like I am sleeping with the arms of God wrapped around my brain and heart. You can choose in what way you decide to read this devotional. This is what works for me. I love that the devotionals are short, include a scripture, a thought, and other scripture references to look up. I love that the devotional is hard cover and has an inviting couch with a warm cozy blanket on the cover. It looks inviting and comfortable for a nice chat with God.
