Daily, I read my Bible through the Bible App YouVersion. I read through the Bible Chronologically and I use a different translation each year. When I start my day by spending time in God’s word I have a better day. I live with a chronic illness, several in fact, and having a practice of resting and spending time with Jesus daily helps me stay connected, energized, and having better relationships with my family and caregivers and doctors.
Recently, I was given The Jeremiah Study Bible Psalms and Proverbs by David Jeremiah to review. Here was my first impressions when I received it in the mall. One, the book is dark, the dark grey makes it hard to read the title and see the wording. As I read through I decided that I am going to use this as my nightly time with Jesus before I go to sleep. I am loving the new nightly routine and I am loving the study aspect of reading through the Psalms and Proverbs. There is a lot of great information. I was so thrilled that I showed this study Bible to my friend Timothy who is a devote studyier who even goes deeper into the Greek and Hebrew to get a deeper meaning and understanding. He loved what he read but he had a question that I couldn’t answer or find an answer to. Timothy wanted to know where Jeremiah got his Hebrew texts or information from. What his source was? For someone like me, who isn’t as deep into the Greek or Hebrew this is not a problem, but someone who is like Timothy who wants to be the source being used is a good quality one it is important. I found the on-line source pages that Jeremiah has very informative and helpful. I spent over an hour on their and even signed up for the newsletter.
Being someone who has a chronic illness and requires time with God as balm and healing to their soul this study Bible is a wonderful asset. To my fellow Christian chronic illness warriors I recommend you get this study Bible and include it in your time with Jesus. It is a great tool.
