Your Battles Belong to the Lord by Joyce Meyer came into my life at the perfect time. I’ve been dealing with some doubt about my own journey and why I am suffering from a challenging and painful illness that leaves me wondering about my own identity. I grew up in a church that didn’t explain how the devil will attack as Meyer’s has. I have read her book Battle Field of the Mind ten year ago when I first became sick with Wegeners, subglottic stenosis, and RA. I didn’t know at the time that my illnesses had a name.
Here are some key things that I took from reading this awesome book:
- The devil will attack you, it states it in the Bible that he will devour you and hunt you down to keep you from Jesus.
- We have tools, an armour that God has given us to help us fight the Devil and this armor includes the most important weapon of all the Word of God.
- No matter what shape you are in, physically healthy or fighting an illness like mine all things are possible with Jesus. I believe this. I know this to be true.
If I had the ability to buy a book for every chronic illness person that I know and will know this would be the book I would buy and Battlefield of the Mind. Joyce Meyer’s has a great podcast that I listen to daily that is awesome too. I highly recommend this book to anyone. We need to know our enemy and we need to know how to use the tools we have and to especially know that we have tools.
