Love and relationships are a cornerstone of everyone’s life. We all want love and we all want Relationships. Sometimes our execution is stunted. In Michael Gibson’s book Real Life Love he takes you on a journey of what real love is and what it isn’t.
Gibson starts the book off by talking about honor in a relationship, what honor is and what it isn’t. Honor is treating people like they are gold no matter what is going on in that relationship. It is respecting them and valuing them.
This book isn’t just about marriage, it is about all the different types of relationships that we are in. As a chronically ill person I have to remember that even though I’m suffering I have to still remember to honor and value my relationships. I do that by being honest with peole about my circumstances and doing small things that show that I care. Somehow we have gotten this notion that to show someone we love them we have to have this grand entrance and declaration of love for them. That isn’t the truth. We love by remembering them on their birthday, we love them by respecting their opinions and values and most importantly we do this by honoring them no matter what our emotional state is.
This is a great book and I highly recommend it:
I was given a copy from Faith Words. The opinions I express are my own and I was not influenced.
