One of my favorite books as a child was Madeleine L’Engle’s Wrinkle in Time. The story spoke to my soul and it started me on my journey of becoming a lifetime reader and it enhanced my faith in God. In Sarah Arthur’s book A Light So Lovely we go on a journal of who L’Engle is and what made her tick. I loved learning about L’Engle’s story on science and faith. That seems like a ticking time bomb when we talk about it, but I’m with L’Engle it is connected and we should be willing to look at it from all different angles.
Arthur to me does a great job in describing the experiences of L’Engle. One thing I did not know is that many fellow Christians did not love Wrinkle In Time. They saw it as a story about witches. I was blown away on how they treated L’Engle and the book. I didn’t know it was a banned book.
If you want to learn about L’Engle and her journey of writing this is the book for you.
