In the United States a sort of civil war is happening in our communities. The right against the left and there doesn’t seem to be any peace in sight coming from either side. In Brian Jennings book Dancing in No Man’s Land he takes on this subject with some great Jesus lessons intertwined.

Jenning’s uses a lot of World War I metaphors in this book and ideas, such as the no man’s land that was between two trenches. The no man’s land is the valley or section between the two sides that no one goes where if you treaded you were shot down by both sides. Scary to think about, but he is right. Both sides of our political party have dug trenches and if you are like me and listen to both sides and know people from both sides and think both sides are wrong and who hasn’t chosen a side you are virtually shot down. I like that he encourages people to go into the no man’s land and start communicating with each other with respect, kindness, and a willingness to consider the other sides point of view.

This is a good book. Has some fabulous ideas and I hope there are more people like me and Mr. Jennings who are willing to get shot down in order to restore respect in our community.
