Dementia seems to be becoming more prevalent. It is scary. In Dr. Richard Furman’s new book Defeating Dementia he shares some great case studies and even some healthful wellness tips to take care of your brain and the plaque that forms in your brain that causes dementia. This is an in depth textbook, I highlighted a lot of passages. One thing I learned is that Dementia and Alzheimers is the same disease. Dementia is one of the first steps towards Alzheimers. How scary is that to consider? I always thought and I’m sure you have too that dementia and Alzheimers are two different diseases. I love that fact that Furman shares a personal story of his mother in laws own experience with this awful disease. That takes a lot of courage.
This is a great book for those who want to learn more about dementia and also about living well to reduce your risk for getting dementia.
