Fear, an unknown person, place, or thing or action that you have no control over. It seems to permeate your whole body, mind, and spirit. It is hard to hand that over to God and let His will be done. In Maria Furlough’s book Breaking the Fear Cycle we are given some great insight in facing our fears head on with God’s help and letting them go and finding our peace. I know I need this in my life.
For me, I show my fear every time I have another trachea surgery, because I know there is a chance I won’t wake up from it. I feel scared that I won’t wake up.
Furlough shares her own fear and she is genuine and authentic about how she found peace in the most heartbreaking fear she faced, the loss of a child. I cannot imagine going through a pain such as this. Somehow she and her husband found peace through the process. God is amazing like that. I was given a lot of great scriptures and insight so that I can face my own fear. I think you will too.
