I’m an introvert. I enjoy quiet, calm, relaxing solitude. It charges me. With this knowledge, I know the importance of community and relationships too. In Rusty George’s book Better Together he takes on this subject as an introvert. I like how he shares his own weaknesses while sharing ways we can better be a community member in church, home, and society.
It isn’t easy, trust is a huge barrier, at least it is for me. Church has been a negative thing for me, but I know the importance of being part of a church family. I want that. I’m working on my issues so that I can have a church family. I love the fact he talks about church shoppers, those who wants church to be perfect and if it doesn’t meet their criteria it is a bad church and they leave. He has some insightful thoughts on this subject.
I recommend this book to anyone who longs to connect with their community and do it in a healthy, Jesus fashion.
