This week I have been sick, thankfully it isn’t the flue. Just a normal cold, but with a trach it is extra hard to handle. I am thankful that Kristen Kill’s book Finding Selah showed up in my mailbox. I dove straight in, while blowing my trach and taking cold medicine. I devoured her words, the scriptures she shares, and the raw sharing of her heart. Like Kill I often turn to Psalms to give balm to my heart while I am hurting or struggling with my autoimmune disorder and living with a trach. It reminds me, it centers me, and it allows me to put words to the array of emotions I am feeling that I cannot express.
I love stories where women share their struggles, their pain, and their complicated relationships with God and others. I love authentic women. I aim to be an authentic woman.
Finding Selah would be a great gift for any woman struggling and needs a reminder to practice peace, or practice Selah, (pausing and letting God lead).

In exchange for my review of Kristen Kill’s book Finding Selah I was given a free copy from Booklookers. The opinions I express are my own and I was not influenced.
