The more I read historical fiction, the more I fall in love with the genre. Lynn Austin’s novel is based on a true story of two sisters who go on adventures and discovered the oldest Bible. What I love is these women defied the traditions of what a woman was back in the 1800’s, where the men owned property and money and women couldn’t. They were smart, classy, and independent during a period of time it wasn’t allowed.
I love the descriptive words of the foreign lands they visited and the spunk of these two sisters. I love bold, opinionated, and smart women. I aspire to be that way. Reading this novel gave me great joy as I healed from my cold and dealt with some challenges of my own.
I recommend this book to everyone. It’s a big book, but every page is full of a wonderfully crafted story.
