In exchange for my review I was given a copy of The Happiness Prayer by Evan Moffic by Faith Words. The opinions I express are my own and were in no way influenced.
Happiness seems to be everyone’s goal. Maybe that’s why I choose to read “The Happiness Prayer” by Evan Moffic. I am not of Jewish faith, but I am a Christian and so reading on the Eilu Devarim prayer brought a since of rest and peace to my being.
I especially liked Moffic’s wisdom on several of the points of the prayer; be kind, keep learning, pray with intention, and commit. These are not all the points of the prayer. Reading the prayer and the reasons why Moffic prays it daily made me take a deeper look into my own daily time and reflections with God.
I really appreciated his thoughts on visiting the dying and the ill. Being a woman with a chronic illness I don’t get a lot of visitors, because around someone who is challenged with health issues makes one reevaluate their life and some don’t want to face the emotional and spiritual discomfort.
This book is for anyone whether Jewish or Christian or none of them to read and see value in valuing others.
