In exchange for my honest review I was given a copy of “Tranquility: A Prayer and Reflection Coloring Journal” by Amie Carlson by Tynsdale Publishing. The opinions I express are my own and were in no way influenced.
As many of you know that I struggle with my chronic illness and I’m always looking for ways that I can use to keep my mind off of my pain and breathing issues and focus more on Jesus. I have been coloring for a long time and it somehow transfers my thoughts to something besides the way my body feels into a where I can focus on God. That is why when I was offered a change to try out Amie Carlson’s “Tranquility: A Prayer and Reflection Coloring Journal” I jumped at the chance.
I love this coloring journal and here is why:
- The book is hardcover.
- The size is 5 by 7 and it is awesome for sitting in my bed while listening to K-Love Radio coloring and reflecting on my day.
- The scripture on each page helps you focus on what to pray while coloring. I like that.
Last night, because of the recent break-ins in my apartment complex we have started a neighborhood watch program. There are 4 of us who canvas our secured building to make sure the doors and windows are secure. Last night 5 police officers came in to arrest someone while we were doing our security check. It freaked me out and I needed to sit and be still and calm. I turned on my radio, which plays K-Love and I got into my bed and started coloring and immediately I started feeling peace in my heart.
I recommend this coloring journal to all my chronic illness friends who struggle with pain, anxiety, and struggles with sleeping. I also think this would be great for anyone who wants to have some quiet reflection and prayer with Jesus.
