Through Goodreads I won a copy of Shalom in Psalms by Jeffrey Seif, Glenn Blank, and Paul Wilbur. The opinions I express are my own and in no way influenced.
I have always enjoyed reading the book of Psalms in the Bible. I have always read it in the Amplified Bible or the King James Version. The Amplified version is my favorite. That was until I received Shalom in Psalms by Jeffrey Seif, Glenn Blank, and Paul Wilbur. They use The Tree Of Life Version and I like it. I have never heard of The Tree of Life Version of the Bible. All I can say is that this version of Psalms speaks to my heart and soul better than the other versions I have read. I also like reading the author commentaries after each Psalm. The fact that the authors ask their readers to view Psalms in a different way and ask them deep questions. It is a devotional that I will reread.
I am not finish with this book, but I read enough that I felt that I could give an honest review. I will continue reading. I will continue enjoying. I will continue to feel the balm of healing I get from reading Psalms.
I recommend this book to those of us who have chronic illness. There are many Psalms that seem like a cry of pain that fits what I am going through with my own illness. I also have a new desire to get The Tree of Life Version of the Bible.
