enjoy

The last couple of weeks while I have been recuperating from another throat surgery I have been enjoying reading Trillia’s J. Newbells book “Enjoy”. Joy one of the fruits of the spirit that I have seemed to have forgotten all about. Newbell’s book deeply affected my view of things and my illness. I have made the decision that my first Bible study will be based on Enjoy. I will be venturing out on my own project of joy.

Here is what I have gained:

  • I have lost my joy. Somehow, somewhere it has disappeared from my life. I want it back.
  • Joy is healing. Joy is restful. Joy is needed for my healing journey. As I meander through the maze of t tube care in my throat, dealing with chemo drugs, medical supply companies, a body that I don’t understand I want to have moments of joy throughout my day.
  • God enjoyed his creative work. He created this beautiful world we live in. Because of the fall, it got messed out. But the good, the joy of it all is still there. It is not gone.

This is what I am walking away with. I am going to put out a request here and now. In January I want to have a small meeting of women who want to find their joy and work through this book with me. I’d like to meet weekly, talk, connect, and reflect on what we are learning. If that is something you would be interested in, contact me. I’ll post more on my Facebook as January approaches. In the meantime, I believe picking up your own copy of Enjoy by Trillia J. Newbell would be an awesome gift for yourself or one of your sister/friends.
