When I was younger I remember my father saying to me to never talk about politics and religion, because that is one way to start a war with someone.  In Darrell L. Bock’s book “How Would Jesus Vote?” That is exactly what Bock talks about. I have seen many rants, assassination by words with many of my fellow Christian believers who may believe in the same Jesus but their political views did not match up. The love seems to be lost when it comes to politics. We forget Jesus command, love one another.

I was a bit scared to read Bock’s book, because I assumed it would be a rant and not really share the Bible’s point of view. I didn’t get that from this. Bock gave great insight into different aspects of the political spectrum.

Here is what I have learned from reading “How Would Jesus Vote?”

  • We may have the right to own guns, but with that right we also have responsibility. That responsibility is learning gun safety, getting a background check, and not use for criminal reasons.
  • Race is still a huge issue in America. Jesus tells us to love your neighbors as yourself. Bock suggests that the church has a responsibility to help with the issues between the races. I agree.

In exchange for my honest review on How Would Jesus Vote? By Darrell L. Bock I was given a free copy by Howard Books. My opinions are my own.
