I wasn’t sure what I was getting when I chose to read A.R. Bernard’s book “Four Things A Woman Wants From A Man”. What I read showed me what a healthy relationship looks like. It opened my heart and my eyes to the possibility that a true healthy relationship with a man could be possible. It’s not easy being married. Commitment is hard. It takes hard work. It takes forgiving each other for the mistakes. It takes admitting when one is wrong and not letting pride destroy you and your relationship. I am speaking for both men and women.
From the title you would think this book is geared towards men. That is not true. It’s geared towards women and men. Anyone who is willing to step out of the box and dedicate themselves to building a healthy relationship with their partner.
Here is what I learned:
- Maturity is just a number. It’s a growth to become more responsible with your emotions and how you are just as much to blame for things as your partner. It also takes not playing the blame game.
- Being decisive shows wisdom. Being able to make a quick decision and be willing to do the correct thing is a beautiful thing.
- Consistency is key to living a quality life. If you are consistent in your life people know they can trust you.
- Strength is not all about the muscle. It’s about being able to endure, and have fortitude during the hard parts of a relationship.
This book on marriage and what to look for gave me some good insight into my own path. I’m not married, but having a plan and learn the qualities of maturity, decisiveness, consistency, and strength helps me to achieve a healthy relationship and not just with a husband.
This is a good book for both women and men to read. It will help you both become better partners.
In exchange for my honest review on A.R. Bernard’s book Four Things Women Want From A Man published by Howard books I was given a free copy. My opinions are my own.
