Have you watched the movie War Room? I did. Let me tell you that I was inspired to look at my prayer life. I then bought the book Fervent by Priscilla Shirer that the movie War Room is based from. I learned a lot about how Satan attacks me. Reading through all 13 chapters I began to realize that I have been neglecting to use the tools that Jesus has given me. You can find out what these tools are in Ephesians 6. Here are some lessons that Learned while reading:
- Satan will use any crack to destroy you, to lead you astray. He is our enemy. He is merciless when it comes to his tactics.
- We have been given tools to help us defeat Satan and his tactics. They are, the helmet of salvation, the belt of truth, the breastplate of integrity and moral rectitude, the shield of faith, and the sword which is the word of God. Read about it in Ephesians 6.
- Prayer, deep, meaningful, and soulful prayer needs to be a part of your daily life with Jesus. I have begun journaling my prayers and I’m working on my own battle plan on my wall too.
- Having a battle plan for your prayer life is key to defeating Satan from destroying you, your relationships, and walk with Jesus. Believe me he will destroy you and your relationships if he can.
- When things pop up, like fears, anxiety, depression, and memories of the past. These could be and are more likely fiery attacks from Satan to stop you from achieving your assignment from Jesus.
This is one thing I know for sure, Fervent by Priscilla Shirer is one of the books I will keep reading over and over again. Ever Christian woman needs these three things: Her own copy of Priscilla Shirer’s book and her Bible, her own battle plan, and her own sacred, quiet space to pray fervently.
