Selah by Betty Henderson was a bible study on a few of the Psalms written by David. I thoroughly enjoyed reading the scriptures and thinking on the questions that were asked at the end of each reading.
Psalms 37 touched a nerve with me. The first verse says “Fret not yourself because of evildoers, neither be envious against those who work unrighteousness that which is not upright or in right standing with God.” The whole psalm showers the reader with hope that God is with you through everything. Even someone slanders you or is trying to kill you. I was reminded of my family and the pain that is in our relationships. I have spoken of it a few times on my blog. As I have walked each step towards my own healing I cannot help but wish that my family was able to make the same steps towards their own healing. I have to trust and rely on God that he will bring them all healing when they are ready to accept his help and when God has his time with them. Right now is my time to heal. Psalm 37, to me speaks about letting go. Letting go of the hurt, the pain, and the anger in order for me to move forward and do my assignment. I happen to believe we are all given an assignment. And it is not always going to make sense to someone else and in turn they will hurt. David had an assignment and Saul wanted to kill him.
I hope when you read Selah, which means pause and calmly think, it will touch your heart and help you grow. I know it did me.
