I joined another challenge with Brook: Not on a Diet blog for the month of September. I have been thinking about what one goal of the month of September will be and I have made a decision. I will only have one goal this month not a whole bunch for my weight loss. I get too overwhelmed when I have more than one goal towards my weight. The month of September I will concentrate on my eating. I will be getting my eating in alignment with how I am supposed to eat with my disease. I will be a faithful user of Myfitnesspal instead of an occasional user to help me keep track of what I am eating. If I log into Myfitnesspal for every day in September and log my food then I will reward myself with a new nail polish color for my toes. I have been neglecting myself in the way I have been eating lately. A lot of convenient foods, because I have not felt like cooking and preparing food I know this is not healthy for me.
In case you are new to my blog, I have a Vasculitis disease that affects my ability to breathe and causes me to have full on joint pain and swellings that suddenly appear out of nowhere. There is no cure for this disease, so I have to manage it like you would diabetes. I take a lot of chemo drugs that help keep me from having inflammation and I know when I eat well not having a lot of sugary things or processed foods I do a lot better. But I get overly exhausted from doing the most common activities such as grocery shopping and that plays a big part in my laziness with food.
One of my tasks is to figure out how to not rely on convenience foods. One way is to use my crockpot and stock up the left overs in my freezer for those days when I am too exhausted to cook. That means coming up with a menu plan each day of the week, which I have to be honest I have not been doing at all. I have a lot of healthy recipes pinned on Pininterest, but I have not used many of them. I did try out one healthy recipe I found for chicken enchiladas that turned out great and I enjoyed it a lot. Okay I guess I have two goals for the month of September, but it still involves food. That is using a couple of the recipes I have found on Pininterest and utilizing my crock pot and freezer.
