A while back when I went to the Urgent Care Medical Center here in Vancouver my wonderful and awesome caregiver found this pamphlet. “Living Well with Chronic Conditions”, you know that had me intrigued since I am all about how to accept and live well with my auto-immune disease. Unfortunately the classes already started and they were only in the evening. I don’t drive or get around that well so I am praying and hoping this opportunity will come about again in my area, and at a time that I can attend, perhaps even have someone go with me who is interested, because I would love to take this class.
Stanford University came up with this class and it is available to us. I love what they provide: Support (which we all know is vital), Practical ways to deal with pain and fatigue (I don’t experience pain that often, but the fatigue I would love to have some helpful tips on this subject,), Better nutrition and exercise choices (I still flounder when it comes to nutrition and exercising, I will write more on this in a later post.) Understand new treatment choices (interesting, I am curious to what they are.), Learn better ways to talk with your doctor and family about your health (I am all about communication and I am always open to learning new ways of doing so).
If you are interested in attending one in your community their web address is livingwell.doh.wa.gov/…
And if you attended or are attending please share your experience. I would love to know more about it.
