Sometimes in life synchronicity happens. A few months ago I watched a program called “Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead” on Hulu. Joe, the main character on the program talked about being on a juice fast for 60’s days in order to aide him in reaching remission for his auto immune disorder. That resonated with me, because I to have a rare Vasculitis/ auto-immune disease that wreaks havoc on my body. The inflammation attacks my breathing, if you read my blog you know about my own journey. While watching Joe’s show and seeing his and Phil’s progressing to finding balance in their health. I felt a kinship, a knowing of hope hitting my brain and I wished for a juicer. Guess what I got one and I did not have to pay a penny for it. My amazing sister in law who helps me by going to the doctor with me and being a part of my journey had a friend who had one that was never used, so I got a juicer a couple of months later.
Yesterday, Myron and I went shopping for the makings of a good juice. I saw the many different types of combinations and recipes on the internet and on Joe’s website, but the rebellious lady in me wanted to make my own concoction, so I did. Myron wanted to be the juicing king and even cleaned up the machine after we were done making my juice. My recipe consisted of:
1 kiwi fruit
1 granny smith apple
1 pear
1 quarter of pineapple
1 beet including the greens
1 bunch of kale
1 chunk of ginger root
1/2 cucumber
That sounds delicious! Hope you had fun!
